Abstract waves of navy, red, teal, gray, and beige textured bands flowing horizontally.

Use it like home. Treat it like it's borrowed.

Your Rent Bedr setup is meant to be lived with. Sit, sleep, work, host, eat, relax. Just give the furniture reasonable care while it is with you. Normal wear can happen, but stains, cracks, burns, water damage, missing parts, and mystery damage are a different story.

Sofas and Fabric Seating

Keep fabric clean, dry, and protected.

Sofas and fabric seating are made for everyday use. Sit, relax, host, nap, and make the place feel like home. Just be careful with anything that can leave a stain, smell, burn, or tear.

The main thing: if something spills or leaves a mark, deal with it early and let us know if it looks serious.

Care tips
  • Keep dark drinks, oily food, makeup, ink, candles, and sharp objects away from fabric when possible.
  • Blot spills right away with a clean dry cloth. Do not rub the stain deeper into the fabric.
  • Avoid sitting on sofa arms, backs, or edges.
  • Keep pets off fabric pieces unless your rental allows it.
  • Do not use bleach, harsh cleaners, or strong stain removers without checking with us first.
  • Let cushions settle naturally. Some softening from regular use is normal.
  • Tell us early if there is a stain, tear, burn, smell, or broken part.
Good to know

Light fabric settling and small signs of regular use can be normal. Large stains, burns, rips, strong smells, or broken frames are treated differently.

Beds and Mattresses

Keep the bed clean, dry, and covered.

Mattresses need a little extra care because cleanliness matters here more than almost anywhere else. The bed should stay comfortable, fresh, and easy to use for the full rental.

The main thing: use bedding, avoid liquids, and let us know quickly if anything spills or soaks into the mattress.

Care tips
  • Always use sheets on the mattress.
  • Use a mattress protector if one is provided.
  • Keep food, drinks, oils, wet towels, makeup, and heavy lotions away from the bed.
  • Keep the mattress dry at all times.
  • Do not jump on the bed or overload the frame.
  • Do not drag, fold, flip, or move the mattress unless we ask you to.
  • Contact us right away if there is a spill, stain, smell, or moisture issue.
Good to know

Mattresses should come back clean, dry, and usable. Stains, moisture, and strong odours are taken seriously because they can affect whether the mattress can be used again.

Bed Frames, Nightstands, and Dressers

Use drawers and surfaces gently.

Bedroom furniture gets used every day, so small habits matter. Keep surfaces dry, avoid forcing drawers, and tell us if something feels loose before it becomes a bigger issue.

The main thing: do not overload, drag, or modify bedroom furniture.

Care tips
  • Open drawers smoothly instead of pulling hard or forcing them.
  • Do not overload drawers with very heavy items.
  • Use coasters on nightstands and dressers.
  • Keep drinks, candles, humidifiers, and wet items off surfaces unless they are protected.
  • Lift smaller pieces instead of dragging them across the floor.
  • Do not drill, paint, stain, sticker, or modify any item.
  • Report loose handles, stuck drawers, cracked legs, or wobbling early.
Good to know

Loose hardware is usually simple to deal with if we know early. Broken drawer tracks, cracked panels, and water damaged surfaces are bigger issues.

Tables, Desks, and Hard Surfaces

Protect surfaces from water, heat, and scratches.

Tables and desks are made to be used. The most common problems are water rings, heat marks, deep scratches, dents, and spills left sitting too long.

The main thing: use coasters, wipe spills quickly, and avoid sliding heavy or sharp items across the surface.

Care tips
  • Use coasters for drinks.
  • Use placemats or protection under hot plates, mugs, candles, and hot laptops.
  • Wipe spills quickly, especially on wood, veneer, or laminate.
  • Do not leave standing water on any surface.
  • Lift objects instead of sliding them across the tabletop.
  • Keep markers, glue, paint, nail polish, and heavy craft materials away from surfaces.
  • Do not sit, stand, or climb on tables or desks.
Good to know

Small signs of regular use can happen. Water rings, heat marks, deep scratches, cracked surfaces, and heavy dents are usually preventable.

Dining Chairs, Office Chairs, and Stools

Use chairs for sitting, not balancing.

Chairs and stools hold up best when they are used evenly and handled with a little care. Rocking, dragging, leaning, and standing on them can loosen parts quickly.

The main thing: keep all legs on the floor and tell us if something starts to wobble.

Care tips
  • Do not lean back on two legs.
  • Do not stand on chairs or stools.
  • Lift chairs instead of dragging them.
  • Keep chair legs level and avoid rocking them loose.
  • Use office chairs normally and avoid rough handling of wheels, arms, and height controls.
  • Keep upholstered seats away from food, drinks, ink, and stains.
  • Report loose screws, wobbling, cracks, or strange noises early.
Good to know

A loose chair can often be fixed if we hear about it early. A broken frame or cracked leg is a bigger issue.

Rugs

Keep rugs dry and clean where you can.

Rugs handle a lot of everyday traffic, especially in living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, and entryways. Try to keep them away from moisture, heavy dirt, and anything that can leave a deep stain.

The main thing: clean small messes early and do not let wet spots sit.

Care tips
  • Vacuum lightly when needed.
  • Keep wet shoes off rugs.
  • Blot spills quickly with a clean dry cloth.
  • Do not scrub aggressively.
  • Keep rugs out of damp spaces.
  • Avoid paint, oil, food stains, pet mess, and candle wax.
  • Tell us if a serious stain, smell, or water issue happens.
Good to know

Light foot traffic is normal. Deep stains, odours, burns, water damage, and pet damage are not regular wear.

Lamps, TVs, and Electronics

Keep electronics dry, stable, and complete.

Lamps, TVs, remotes, and cords should be used exactly as intended. Keep them away from water, do not open them up, and let us know if something feels unsafe.

The main thing: do not repair or modify electronics yourself.

Care tips
  • Keep liquids away from cords, plugs, lamps, remotes, and TVs.
  • Keep lamps on stable surfaces.
  • Do not open, rewire, repair, or modify electronics.
  • Do not overload outlets or extension cords.
  • Keep remotes, cords, bulbs, and accessories together.
  • Avoid moving TVs without checking with us first.
  • Stop using the item and contact us if anything sparks, flickers, overheats, or feels unsafe.
Good to know

If something electrical feels off, stop using it and contact us. It is better to ask than guess.

Kitchenware and Small Add Ons

Use the small stuff carefully and keep sets together.

Small add ons are easy to misplace because they are not as obvious as a sofa or table. If an item comes with parts, cords, lids, remotes, or accessories, keep everything together.

The main thing: return rented add ons clean, complete, and in usable condition.

Care tips
  • Wash kitchenware after use.
  • Do not use items in ways they are not designed for.
  • Keep sets together.
  • Do not lose lids, small parts, remotes, cords, or accessories.
  • Tell us if something breaks or arrives with an issue.
  • Do not pack dirty kitchen items with furniture or soft goods.
  • Check your order details if an add on is a one time purchase instead of a rental.
Good to know

Some add ons may be handled differently from monthly furniture rentals. The final order details should confirm what is rented and what is purchased.

Spills, Stains, and Accidents

Tell us early if something happens.

Accidents can happen. The best thing you can do is let us know quickly, especially if the issue could get worse with time or continued use.

The main thing: take photos, stop the issue from getting worse, and contact us before trying anything harsh.

What to do
  • Stop using the item if using it could make the issue worse.
  • Take clear photos of the spill, stain, break, or damaged area.
  • Send us a message as soon as possible.
  • Do not use bleach, harsh cleaners, glue, tools, or repair kits unless we tell you to.
  • Do not wait until collection day to mention the issue.
Good to know

Depending on the issue, we may recommend cleaning, repair, replacement, or another next step. Accidental damage, stains, and more serious issues are reviewed case by case.

What Not To Do

A few things to avoid.

Most care is common sense. Use the furniture normally, keep it in the home, and do not make changes that cannot be undone.

The main thing: if you are unsure whether something is okay, ask us first.

Please do not
  • Paint, stain, cut, drill, sticker, or modify the furniture.
  • Remove hardware, covers, labels, legs, feet, or parts.
  • Leave furniture outdoors, on balconies, in garages, or in damp storage spaces.
  • Try major repairs yourself.
  • Move furniture to a new address without Rent Bedr approval.
  • Hide damage until collection.
  • Throw away screws, cords, remotes, cushions, covers, or accessories.
Good to know

A quick question early is always better than a surprise later. Send us a note if you are not sure what to do.
